Message from our principal:

Welcome to Janesville School! Our school is a small rural school nestled up against the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We have approximately 325 students in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade. Our faculty includes seventeen teachers (including one full time resource teacher), numerous paraprofessionals, a full-time counselor, librarian and computer technician. This staff helps keep our class sizes generally under twenty-five students. The school district itself is geographically large with coverage including the communities of Janesville, Milford along Highway 395 and parts of the Honey Lake Valley. The mission of the Janesville Union Elementary School is to prepare students to be productive citizens and confident authors of their future. We will strive to achieve this by offering academically challenging curriculum, quality teaching, and modeling integrity and empathy for others. We offer a comprehensive Social Emotional Learning program, and our theme is "We are WILD"- Welcoming, we have Integrity, we are Loyal, and Determined.

Our students participate in in a variety of enrichment, academic, and athletic activities. We offer a full Extended Learning Opportunties Program (ELOP) with before and after school activities as well as ELOP days on non-school days throughout the year. Some of these activities include gardening club, homework club, band, coding club as well as full day themed ELOP programs such as STEM day, Coding day, ART appreciation day, etc. TK- 8th grade students are invited to join our cross-country team, and 7th and 8th grade students can participate in sports throughout the year which include flag football, girls' and boys' basketball, girls' volleyball, and track. In addition, 6th-8th grade girls can join our cheer squad.

We are proud of the programs we offer and hope you'll stop by for a visit to see our beautiful campus-
